Accept and Just. Be. Still.

Don't shoot the messenger! You've likely heard this phrase but have you ever considered your emotions to be messengers? Little messages sent to the body from the body in an attempt to provide greater insight into your needs...

As a society, we tend to dismiss our emotions and shoot down their message. We deny, bury, and judge them. We label them "good" or "bad". But these little messages serve a bigger purpose. Just as you wouldn't ignore a fever as it's a symptom of something potentially larger. In the same way, we shouldn't ignore our emotions. They aren't random. They're telling you something. Are you willing to listen?

It's been awhile since I've posted. To be honest, I wasn't listening to the messages being sent in my own body. There's a sense of fear - even now - posting this. As a health coach, I feel as though I should be able to manage my own life in perfect, harmonious balance. Spoiler alert: I can't. I'm human too and suffer from anxiety, depression and perfectionism paralysis. But I'm working on it. Every day. Attuning my attention to those messengers and reflecting on what I need in that moment. Day by day. A little bit stronger. A little bit more compassionate and a little bit more self-aware.

It's a powerful and FREEING thing when we stop trying to control and change everything/everyone around us and instead choose to accept and just. be. still. โœจ
